My work has always been a place for me to explore the more romantic, darker ideas and emotions within myself. Within the rectangular space of the canvas, one can almost find a mirror - an indulgent, sensual space to explore and reflect on our emotions - and maybe even find transformation. "Black Bough" is an invitation - a branch to hold on to - a place to feel.
The surface is completely void of color (black 3.0 is the blackest substance available to artists today) and has an incredibly sublime feel to it. The matt black surface draws you in, and vibrates with an almost "anti-light". The substance itself is made from Nano Technology, which basically means that the paint is comprised of tiny tubes that absorb the light into the tube (not reflecting it). It is truly an incredible substance to work with and a pleasure for the eyes!
